Yang (not so favorite): My least favorite thing is down dog. How can I love yoga so much and hate this pose? I mean, I HATE it. I shake, I cant breath, I hurt. I jsut HATE it. But, much like with the plank I am slowly learning with it. That doesn't mean I don't hate it though. Actually now that I have its photo here... I do see a lot of similarities. I think I hate anything that involves pushing myself up with my puny arms. Maybe I hate my arms. Self hatred, that's just sad.Friday, May 14, 2010
The Ying and the Yang
Ying (favorite): My favorite thing about being healthy this week was yoga. It felt so great! I wasn't sore this time and I felt refreshed. That is a really great feeling when you have a cold begging to take over your very soul. My soul is still intact, but I had to fight it off with my own rib.
Yang (not so favorite): My least favorite thing is down dog. How can I love yoga so much and hate this pose? I mean, I HATE it. I shake, I cant breath, I hurt. I jsut HATE it. I'm seriously so happy that you're enjoying yoga. Sometimes it just takes finding the right kind.
My favorite thing this week is the book I'm reading while climbing away on the elliptical machine. It's super good.
My least favorite is that I haven't been able to find a time to fit in doing my yoga DVD- I want to do it in the morning, but the girls have been getting up earlier, and there's no way I'm getting up at 5:30, it's just not happening.

My fave this week is that I found the fun dancing workouts on FitTV. Haven't tried them yet, but I've DVR'd a few to give them a try this week.
My non-fave this week was sick kids that kept me from working out 2 days. Hopefully this upcoming week will be better.
Do any of you have suggestions for a very basic beginner yoga dvd? I did yoga several years ago, but am now back on the total beginner level.
