Goal Update

Well, I'm reporting in on my goal of losing 10 pounds by January 10. (I started the goal the beginning of December.) I didn't make it. I had lost 7 pounds by January 9 but then the day of the weigh in it was 6. But 6 is still good. It's better than 5 or 4 or gaining weight. I did tell my husband my weight and he seemed pretty indifferent about it. It was never really about how he'd feel about it. He doesn't care about the number. It was about me having to own it to him.

Since the weigh in I've really slacked off. I've had a LOT of dessert (including a ton of ice cream tonight that I'm really regretting), and some fries and a burger (albeit minus one half of the bun). And that's all despite telling myself I need to keep going. At this rate, though, I'm going to backslide if I don't get working on it and that is not an option after I worked so hard for the 6.

Thus, since it appears I'll need to memorialize another goal, and pronto, here it is:

New weigh in: February 16. Lose one more pound than I had set for my previous goal that I didn't reach. You notice I'm being coy on numbers here. I'm not as brave as Hilary and can't bring myself to announce my weight to the blogosphere. Maybe that's what I'll do. By that date, I'll have to announce my weight to y'all. Yikes. That's a good one. So, goal....check. Motivation....check.

Now for a plan. Get back to food journaling on fitday.com. No more free-for-all dessert days. And workouts as usual. Get out of the house if I'm peckish but not really hungry so I won't be tempted to snack. Or at a minimum, banish myself from the kitchen.

Here goes!

I tend to not follow the diet on Saturdays, but when you follow it consistantly, you're less likely to go hog wild on Saturdays.
I do go a little wild though. :)
And it took a while before I told my real weight.
Sad, but true.
