I think it's important to give yourself some time off of really thinking about weight loss. To really enjoy just being with your family and relaxing.
However, that doesn't mean it's time to leave the wagon in the dust as you eat your way through the entire Yosemite Park!
So, here's a few things I think of when I'm on vacation.
1. We tend to eat a large breakfast and snack on the way and then a reasonable dinner. Before I stuff myself with teddy grahams (because I totally could, those things are addictive!) I think "am I hungry." It's my new mantra before I eat. Often times I am not, so I put it down.
2. Find some healthy things. If you're eating out often, sure you could splurge now and then. Possibly keeping the idea to taste everything, eat nothing in mind... but otherwise try and find some healthy options on the menu. Maybe plan for a splurge on the last day.
3. Keep moving. If you're on vacation it's a good chance you're doing some good walking and toting kids around (oops, my bad... if your kids are there, it's a "Trip" -- not a vacation, but either way works)... make sure you're purposefully keeping that body moving to burn any extra teddy grahams that pass your lips.
Your thighs will thank you as they don't rub together {btw, one of my least favorite parts of being fat}
