My favorite workout app is cardio trainer. To be fair, I have an Android phone, so some of my apps may be different then what you iphone users use... but this one seems pretty amazing for a VERY amazing price -- FREE. :)My favorite things:... besides raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...
1. It shows how many calories I burn in a week at the top of my phone, and that just makes me want to put in my workouts and try to have that number over 2k. BTW, how many calories should I be burning in exercise a week, is there a good target to shoot for?
3. Right now you can get "lose weight" for free. Just go to the marketplace and download it. Somehow it combines your exercise burn and having less intake and figures out how much less you should be eating. Anyway, I downloaded it and this is my first week using it... we'll see if it's helpful. BUT I've already done my exercise burn and I still have a few days of the week left. Go me. :)
4. It will play music for you while you walk. This makes me happy. It would make me happier if I could ever remember my ear phones. I'm embarrassed to let the whole world know I like Owl City. :)
5. You can plug in the amount of time you workout and your intensity and it will calculate how many calories you've burned. For me, this just brings far too much joy. I love it. It's better than Owl City. :)
7. There are additional apps that you can pay for. You can see them all on their home page.
Anyway, I'd love to hear about your favorite workout apps... whatever phone is fine. We'd all love to be educated, although Android users are obviously far superior. :)

My favorite fitness app is My Fitness Pall. There is an app and there is also an online version, both of which are linked so I use it on my ipod as well as my computer. Its also free. It sounds like it does a lot of what your app does but it also has a place to enter in everything you eat. It has a big data base full of foods (home cooked or restaurant) and you can also enter in your recipes and it will calculate exactly how many calories it has.
You enter in how much weight you want to loose in a week and it tells you how many calories you have. When you exercise you can enter that in and it gives you more calories that you can have that day. For me that is incentive to workout because then I know I get to eat a little extra :)
Cool app! I don't even have a phone that has "apps"...but I like to hear about them!
You're question about calories...here is just a figure to play around with: 3,500 calories = 1 pound. So in general, if you are burning that much a week, and not eating it back, then you should loose a pound. Make sense? Just do what's right for your body :)
