Question of the Week: Breakfast

Carnation Instant Breakfast Essentials Drink Mix, Rich Milk Chocolate, 17.7-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 3)
I thought we'd go through different foods and just see what you think is the best choice.

So, let's start at the very beginning, BREAKFAST.

So, I've kind of transformed my breakfasts as of late.  I've never been a breakfast fan.  I'm not usually really hungry and a large meal never sounds that delicious.

So, on days that I workout I try to have some egg and avocado.  On the days I don't workout I've been having 1/2 c of dry oatmeal with boiling water (I've been using quick oats, is that worse for you than regular oats?) with a tiny bit of milk powder mixed in (I'm thinking it's a little extra protein, am I right there?) 1 T of brown sugar and a few berries.  It's delicious.  I used to eat oatmeal packets, but I'd be STARVING by like 10 am.  Now I'm not hungry at all, and I think it tastes pretty good.  I used to eat my oatmeal with stevia but it had a weird nasty side taste, so the 1 point for the brown sugar is totally worth it for me.

In other news, this week I'm trying to not use any activity points.  I've been OBSESSED with food lately, it's no good.  How many points, blah, blah, blah... I'm not really even hungry but I'm just eating.  Nothing I'm proud of but this week it's no extra food for me.  We'll see how the weight loss does.  I'd like to be 164 by Saturday.  Pipe dream?  Probably.

What do you have for breakfast?  What do you think is the best option/s?

You can totally be 164 by Saturday, especially with the awesome workouts you've been doing! We're all rooting for you!

As far as breakfast goes I really like hard boiled eggs. So sometimes I'll have that and a 1/2 cup of granola (the kind from sprouts with pumpkin seeds is ah-maz-ing) or with some whole wheat toast. Oatmeal is a good idea, as is cream of wheat except that growing up we ate cream of wheat loaded with butter and sugar. I'm not sure it would taste all that good to me without all that extra junk.

I'm a breakfast FANATIC. Like one of those people that goes to bed thinking about breakfast in the morning. My breakfast is either oatmeal with fruit and milk mixed in with a little yogurt on the side, or a vegetable egg omelet with a piece of fruit, or two hard boiled eggs with some fruit. And I always have a spinach smoothie with whatever I eat. It is TASTY!
