Not so great...

Sunday was supposed to be our monthly weigh in, but Drew was at the San Jose holiday parade so we didn't do it.  I'm hoping I can lose a pound or two before then... that would be a happy thing. :)  I don't have high hopes though.

As I look at this month we just seem to have event after event that involves food.  A lot of our holiday traditions have food and really GOOD food.  I just need to figure out how to work around that.  My 3 goals are:
  1. Split when we go out to eat.  I've been pretty good about getting my kids to do this with me, or Drew.  We find we just feel happier and the bill is better when we do this.  Also, Conner really likes splitting with me because he has more options than just their regular kids meals.
  2. Eat really well on the nights we're not going out to eat.  There are still a lot of really good things to eat that are healthy... and I need to cram all of those recipes into this month. :)
  3. When I'm at a party, JUST eat food I really like.  Honestly, I don't need to take a nibble of everything.  Just enjoy small amounts of the food that really is calling to me, so that i don't feel deprived.  I also don't need to feel like I need to finish my plate on food that I don't really love. :)

Anyway, those are my plans for this holiday season.  I'd still like to get to 165 or so by the new year.  So far I'm holding steady at 169... but I figure if I focus on walking with friends, eating right and enjoying myself time will help this weight come off. :)

Good thoughts. And you are doing so great! It is so hard at this time of year not to eat all the yummy stuff that is all over the freaking place!
