Time for the big calorie question....
How many is good?
Honestly, I just realized that I get 26 pounds on weight watchers, and that only translates to under 1200 calories.
I have recently come to terms with the fact that I can hope I can do weight watchers on my own, but I joined Sparkpeople because I like to see my weight on a fancy graph. SparkPeople tells me that I should be eating between 1350-1700 calories per day.
Back when I charted my calories I was between 1200-1500/day unless I splurged and went out.
Honestly, I'm not sitting around all day. It seems like I am with 3 blogs, but let's face it -- I type fast. :)
Doesn't 1200 seem kinda small?
I actually don't feel like I'm being denied anything on weight watchers, and I'm not hungry all the time...
So, this week I'm going to count calories AND do my points.
I may lose my mind, but I'm excited to see the results.
I do think that point counting IS easier.... but I think a calorie count every now and then reveals a little something about fiber and possible health benefits to eating differently. :)

I'm no expert, but 1200 is WAY to few calories in my opinion! I think you'd need at LEAST 1500, possibly the 1700 that sparkpeople recommended. Here's the thing, your body has been used to having a certain number of calories for all these years. Now, lately you've slashed them to 1200. Bottom line is that it's likely freaking out and trying to figure out if this is going to go on forever and if so, if it should just store that fat even harder for the "hard times" ahead. Bodies like to freak out like that! :) Make sure you eat 1500 - 1700 CLEAN calories a day and you'll honestly see crazy fast results!! Your body will not freak out because although you've cut your calories, you haven't been so drastic about it. You'll shed the extra weight because it isn't scared that you're in some sort of famine situation. The key is CLEAN EATING!! Check out the p90x diet guide...it's seriously good, meaning it works! Do you have a problem with a slightly higher protein diet? If not, try to have a full serving of protein at every meal and limit yourself to one, high quality carb (whole grain etc.) per day. It's hard at first and you can increase that amount of carb over time, but it will really kick your metabolism into high gear to just buckle down and do it for 30 days. Make sure you're building muscle to fuel the fat-burning processes in your body, not JUST doing cardio workouts.
Good luck, my friend. I really want you to find what works for you!
