Breakfast: Eat a Lot

I think a big part of losing weight is the mind shift of eating your crappiest food the latest at night, and shifting it to earlier in the day.

Idahoan Hashbrown Potato Mix, 34-Ounce Units (Pack of 3)One of the biggest things that's helped me is eating more for breakfast.  I found these great dried potatoes at the Costco here (I bought 3 packs... just in case they're not a "standard" here).  You put hot water in them, let them sit for 12 minutes, then you drain the water and cook for 6-8 minutes and WHAMO it's hash browns.  They're pretty dang tasty too.  At least as good as ore Ida frozen ones, and a lot easier then grating my own potatoes (which is what I was doing).  I think my problem is that I really want to get a JUMP on the day, and sometimes that just means grabbing a tablespoon of peanut butter for breakfast.  That's just not enough to get your metabolism going.

Also, I eat my crap in the morning.  For instance, I just made Conner a birthday cake.  It has an insane amount of frosting, and I love me some frosting.  I'm going to have some at around 11 am today, instead of after dinner.  I have found that my body is able to burn it at 11 am, where it can't burn it later on.  I know I'm going to have some.  That's not the question, but I CAN schedule it at a point where my metabolism can handle it.

Also, I hate a Crystal light Popsicle the other night before bed and I gained like 2 pounds.  The NutraSweet at night just does something AWFUL To my metabolism.  It killed me last summer with Yumi Yogurt at night, and even though it's "no" calories it will kill me again.

Only problem, I LOVED that popsicle at night.  It cooled me down after all the hot work.  Maybe just a small whole fruit one or something.  I need to work on that.

Anyway, go make a giant breakfast, that's what I'm going to go do.  My hash browns are soaking right now. :)  I'm gonna make breakfast burritos with a bit of bacon for breakfast, topped with avacado.  Yumm....

We totally talked about this in WW last month (or maybe the month before) and Jillian talks about it all the time. Eat all your crap, and especially your carbs, earlier in the day at breakfast and lunch so you have time to burn it off.

I've also noticed that I feel a lot better in the morning if I don't eat a treat the night before. Nights that I have a bowl of ice cream, even a small one, I wake up with a tummy ache, tired, just not feeling my best. I had to switch my thinking too and realize that I don't have to eat a stereotypical dessert for "dessert." For a long time my "dessert" was a string cheese and 6 raw almonds. :)

Wow, I haven't thought about it this way before, but that does make sense. I've been trying to lighten up my dinners, but beefing up the breakfast sounds tasty (I LOVE breakfast foods! Like ALL of them). Might be giving this a try. Thanks for the tip!

This is my biggest problem. I absolutely HATE breakfast. I can hardly get myself to eat something, let alone eat my biggest meal then. I know its good for me though. Maybe I just need to eat lunch and dinner foods for breakfast since I'm not of fan of normal breakfast foods..
