I ran on the treadmill at a 6.0 tonight! Granted it was only for 20 seconds at a time, but still, a 6.0!!!
This is huge for me. I was the fat girl in high school who couldn't even do the weekly "run day" without getting an F. We had to run 1 mile in 20 minutes, should be easy right? No. It always took me the full class... period so, 40-45 minutes to complete it. I could not run it at all, heck I could hardly walk it.
I've never thought that running was something I could do. It's like my trainer said, we're turning me into a runner 20 seconds at a time.

This year, my friend and I both discovered that we enjoy running on the treadmill. We don't work out together, but we do it similar!
What we do is walk at a good pace for 5 minutes, then run/jog for 1 minute (but not too fast). After doing this for a week at a time, we progress up until we eventually run more than walking. Back in November, I was progressing every couple days actually, and it felt GREAT!
I have also been starting to get into running in the last few months and I am amazed at how quickly my body adapts! When I started, I could go for one minute at a 5.2 and I was dead. Now I can run an entire mile at around 5.6-5.8, and it feels so good! I'm hoping to be able to run a 5k this summer.
I hear you there! I am HATING it.
booo, yuck, running... but I Also think it's a part of why I lost four inches last month. And that's always a happy thing. :)
